Wellman Pet (L1/P3) Expansion -Pearl River, MS
Good progress continues to be made in all phases of the project. Engineering, with the exception of turnover packages and miscellaneous items, is complete. All equipment is set with large bore pipe installation, 16 inch and larger, 85% complete. Construction has started railroad modifications and the electrical building is 90% complete. Pipe fabrication has been completed for the SSP, and the last shipments have been dispatched. Fabrication for the convey area has started and will continue, along with the L area piping. The schedule took a hit recently due mainly to Hurricane Dennis. Lauren is in the process of coming up with a plan to mitigate the delays that have been experienced.

Lauren has currently spent 88,552 man-hours (through 7/15/05) and Lauren subcontractors have spent 8,936 man-hours (through 7/15/05) with one (1) recordable and zero (0) lost time accidents to date.

Cleve's Message

PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE

Do you ever wish that you were in charge and that life would go according to our plans? I know I do, but the truth is life is unpredictable, things are not always what they seem, and the One who is in charge does not act and think like I do. One thing seems (to me) certain to succeed and instead it is an utter failure. Success of another seems highly improbable and it is a huge success. Disappointment come when celebration is anticipated. Blessings are received when hardship is feared. An attractive opportunity is pursued for months, or even years, with no result, while another unexpected appears immediately producing fruit.

In the April publication of the Lauren Lantern, I shared a passage from Isaiah that challenges us to prepare for more responsibility and greater blessing. I stated that to do so would require us to exercise faith and may create a ‘crisis of belief’. Indeed, recent events have confirmed the importance of [trusting in the Lord with all our hearts and leaning not on our own understanding.] 1 Work that I thought we would get, we lost. Anticipated transactions did not come to fruition. Unexpected opportunities have materialized which hold great promise. In reflection, all that has transpired is working for our good but it is also challenging our faith. The Bible tells us that [without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.] 2 Only by faith can we more forward and discover God’s plans.

Jesus tells two parables in Matthew, Chapter 25 that have application for us. They are parables of stewardship. They teach what a good steward does while waiting on the Lord. They also tell the consequences of not acting wisely and being unprepared for the unexpected. These parables are know as the Parable of the Ten Virgins and the Parable of the Talents and I encourage you to read them if you have not done so recently. The reward for those who by faith diligently prepared for the future is summed up in “well done good and faithful servant. You have been faithful in a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your Master’s happiness.” 3 The consequences for those who do not is “throw that worthless servant outside, into the darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.” 4

My hope is that each of us will reflect on the encouragements of Isaiah and the admonitions of Jesus, carefully considering how they apply to us. I also hope that everyone will take the time to reflect on what is taking place and as a team, collectively process current events so that we may properly discern God’s plans and purposes for us.

Blessings,

Cleve
