> Solargenix Nevada Solar One: Boulder City, NV

Nevada Solar One will be a 70 MW power generating facility in Boulder City, Nevada, which will use the latest in alternative fuel technology from Solargenix Energy, Inc. Upon project completion, the plant will consist of a Power Block area and a 400-acre field of mirror arrays that will focus the heat of the desert sun into a heat transfer fluid system. Groundbreaking for the project was on February 11, 2006 and Lauren mobilized a construction team two days later. Through May 24th, 90,497 man-hours were expended by direct hire and subcontract personnel. Fabrication of the solar field metals continues with start-up of the solar field pie supports. Estimated completion date is the second quarter of 2007.

> Wellman Pet (L1/P3) Expansion: Pearl River, MS

Alberta's E&C Team Realizes First Award
Lauren E&C, ULC is pleased to announce that we have reached terms with Canadian Natural
Resources Limited (CNRL) to perform Construction Management services to assist the client with the installation of a new Co-Generation Plant (including 4 auxiliary boilers and 1 HRSG, 2 Turbines ) with Water Treatment, substation and Ancillary systems. Project duration is roughly 18 months.

The project has been developed over many months with great involvement from Abilene personnel.
Opportunities abound for project personnel who are interested in seeing the well documented growth of the Oil Sands in Northern Alberta. So, for company, client and our people this is truly a significant victory.

The photograph shows the early stages of the Horizon site development.

CLEVE'S MESSAGE

I am becoming increasingly aware that the world is tired. North Americans are especially tired, and I sense we, at Lauren, are growing tired and weary. I, however, don’t believe that we are overworked. It is not hard work that tires. It is lack of rest and renewal. Just as physical exercise strengthens our body, productive work increases our capacity to work without growing weary. However, without rest the body gets tired and sick. We too get stale and unproductive if we do not take time out from our work (or recreation) to renew ourselves. This is why God made the Sabbath a holy day. We need rest and renewal. “Six days you shall labor and do all your work but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the Lord your God.” (Exodus 20:9,10) We need to draw away from our daily activities and be refreshed and restored by the Lord.

Renewal is needed in all areas of our being: physical, mental, emotional and spiritual. God’s word tells us “Jesus grew in wisdom and stature and in favor with God and man.” Jesus developed a balanced life by regularly withdrawing from the crowds, and even his disciples, to pray and renew his strength. In college I worked at a camp that identified this way of life as the “four square life.” Jesus lived this lifestyle out perfectly as an example for us to follow. He also had perfect understanding of Sabbath stating “the Sabbath was made for man not man for the Sabbath.” (Mark 2:27) We need a day of rest and renewal to properly balance our lives.

Our vision is to be a light to the world. What better way to be light to a tried and weary marketplace, than for us to heed the admonitions and promise “if you call the Sabbath a delight and the Lord’s holy day honorable, and if you honor it by not going your own way and not doing as you please or speaking idle words, then you will find your joy in the Lord, and I will cause you to ride on the heights of the land and to feast on the inheritance of your father…”? (Isaiah 58:13,14)
I challenge each of us to make the Sabbath a delight and see if it does not renew and strengthen.

In addition to the individual blessings to be received by making the Sabbath a delight, I believe we will obtain a corporate blessing and be a light to the world if we practice this as a Company. Therefore, I request that all offices and all jobsites set aside one day a week normally Sunday as a Sabbath to the Lord. If we have a customer whose need can only be met by Sunday work, then we should choose another day that week to observe “Sabbath”. On that day, we should encourage our workforce to not “go their own way and do as they please”, but to use it to become renewed and refreshed physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. If we do this regularly, then I believe we will be able to “spend” ourselves the other six days of the week with energy and passion and our light will indeed shine in a needy world.
