Bryce L Anders has been named 2003’s Engineer of the Year
by the Abilene Chapter of the Texas Society of Professional Engineers.
Anders received the award in March of this year.
The award honors an engineer in the Abilene chapter of TSPE who
has made significant contributions to the engineering profession,
the community, and the Abilene Chapter.
Anders graduated from Iowa State University and is now registered
in 12 states. Following engineering employment in Iowa he moved
to Abilene where he has worked for several firms and has been
employed with Lauren Engineers & Constructors Engineers since
1995. Anders has filled several roles at Lauren and is now a Senior
Mechanical Engineer.
Anders has experience in boiler design, fabrication and repair;
gas and coal fired power plants; cogeneration projects, including
the recently completed Las Vegas Cogeneration II Project; numerous
plastic solid stating projects, including Eastman Chemical, DAK
Americas, KoSa, and Tiepet; piping projects, including Calpine,
and Navajo Refining.
He has served for many years on the City of Abilene’s Mechanical,
Plumbing, Electrical and Swimming Pool Board of Appeals, and on
City Code review and approval committees .
He and his wife Sharon have three children, Gregory, Angela,
and Maegan and an eight month old granddaughter Keely. Sharon
and Bryce are active with the Board of Abilene Adult Day Care
Center, and are the owners of Mezamiz Deux Coffee House.
