Habitat
for Humanity
Abilene, TX
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE!
On Friday and Saturday, June 9-10, Lauren Engineers & Constructors,
Inc and Habitat for Humanity are partnering to renovate a house
at 1126 Burger, which suffered a small fire in November 2005.
Habitat has been using volunteers on Saturday mornings to begin
the process of clearing household items, fire and smoke damaged
fixtures and sheetrock. About 80% of that effort is complete.
Plans are that at the completion of work June 10, all exterior
repairs will be made and the house will be repainted, all repairs
will be made to the damaged roof structure and the roof will be
reshingled, and all repairs and floorplan changes will be made
inside and the house will be ready for electrical, plumbing and
HVAC repair and replacement.
Working under the slogan, “Serving to build a better tomorrow,
today”, Lauren Engineers & Constructors is delighted
to partner with Habitat in order to serve our community. Jody
Lee, Brand Manger with Lauren, states, “this is an exciting
opportunity to serve which reinforces our company vision, ‘to
be a light to the world.’ We hope this is only the beginning
of a longstanding partnership.” Cleve Whitener, President
and CEO of Lauren, adds, “Lauren is very pleased to partner
with Habitat for Humanity to help the citizens of Abilene secure
quality affordable housing.”
